The Monument Lab inaugural fellowship program was created to recognize and support individuals around the country whose ongoing projects addressed long term inequities in monuments and engaged new creative approaches to public art, history, and memory. Additionally, the program accepted a smaller selection of youth fellows, recognized for their existing projects that use art, activism, history, journalism, and other tools to approach monuments in their communities. Monument Lab worked with these fellows to build and enhance their projects and forge alliances across the cohort and the country.
