Kanyinsola Anifowoshe is a curator and writer currently in her first year at Yale College, where she is pursuing a BA in History of Art and Sociology. As curator of the In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens series, she collaborated with Chicago-area artists to honor the intergenerational and historically marginalized creative legacies of Black women through workshops and exhibitions. Former projects include Wahala Zine (editor in chief), a platform for the creative work of young people in the Nigerian diaspora, and The Now (host), a podcast highlighting the work of youth artists and activists. As a co-organizer with Fempowerment Chicago and Youth for Black Lives, she uses artistic expression as a tool for the political empowerment of young people.
