The ConsenSIS team will gather more than 100 Black women and femme poets on Saturday, July 30th at historic Awbury Arboretum in Germantown for a private retreat inspired by “The Clearing” scene from Toni Morrison’s novel Beloved. The Clearing will encourage reunion, rest, and writing.

Following the retreat, members of the general public will be invited to a spirited and healing outdoor reading by the poets in the late afternoon/early evening at the arboretum.
