Public Art and its Antinomies: Conversation with Steve Locke, Wang Xu, and Ken Lum
Online via Zoom
Monument Lab co-founder Ken Lum will moderate a conversation between artists Steve Locke and Wang Xu for Asia Art Archive in America on the nature and purpose of public art and the role of community engagement in its development. Both Locke and Xu have had public art proposals criticized by local communities and/or government agencies and have gone on to create new works about their experiences with the public art approval process.
