Join Monument Lab at Cherry Street Pier to celebrate the launch of our first-ever print journal, Bulletin. This inaugural issue, edited by Patricia Eunji Kim, explores the theme of “Ghosts” across the monument landscape, and features contributors Charles Athanasopoulos, Jeanne Dreskin, Paul Farber, Naomieh Jovin, Cannupa Hanska Luger, Shannon Mattern, Nicholas Mirzoeff, TK Smith, and Marisa Williamson.
The Bulletin launch takes place as a part of Monument Lab’s Summit, which brings together thought leaders influencing and innovating the monument landscape through groundbreaking forms of commemoration, acknowledgment, justice, and belonging.
The Summer Party includes food trucks and bar refreshments from Burrito Feliz Philly, Humpty Dumplings, and Lil Pop Shop; DJ sets by Samala and Rashid Zakat; art, poetry, and tarot activations and more. The evening will include special remarks from Monument Lab Director Paul Farber, Senior Curator Yolanda Wisher, and Bulletin Editor Patricia Eunji Kim.
The event is free and open to the public.
The Summer Party is part of the Monument Lab Summit. Major support for the Monument Lab Summit has been provided by the Mellon Foundation with additional support from Stardust Arts, Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and culture app, the Center for Public Art & Space at the University of Pennsylvania Stuart Weitzman School of Design, Forman Arts Initiative, The Hearthland Foundation, Open Society Foundations, the Philadelphia Foundation, and Wagner Foundation.
