Meet the five ARCH finalists contending to create a lasting campus monument on Thursday, March 30th, 2023 at the Wyndham House. Bryn Mawr College’s ARCH Project (Art Remediating Campus Histories), in partnership with Monument Lab, builds on ongoing college-supported efforts by students, staff, alumni, and faculty to reveal and repair harm, and to reckon with Bryn Mawr College’s history with a way to a future of inclusion and reconciliation.
The five finalists were asked to propose an original artwork that answers the question, “What stories are missing from Bryn Mawr College?”. They will present their proposals in the Wyndham House’s Ely Room at the following times:
You will have an opportunity to ask questions, view renderings and details of each proposal, and learn about the concepts that have framed each work. If you are unable to attend in-person, you can register and join via via webcast. Details will be posted here soon.
Proposal summaries and a feedback survey are available on the Bryn Mawr website as supporting resources to the presentations. Informed by your comments, the Artist Advisory Committee will make recommendations that will be delivered to Bryn Mawr College’s President and Board of Trustees. The Office of the President will announce the commissioned artist in May 2023.
Have more questions after the presentations? Join the artists, organizers, advisory council members, community members and the President’s Office on March 30th, 2023 from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm at the Campus Center for a light reception.
