Historical Society of Pennsylvania (Morning) & PAFA (Afternoon) invite teachers for a professional development workshop that uncovers the Philadelphia monuments of the past and questions what makes a monument in the 21st Century? Situated as a central hub for the Mural Arts Monuments Lab project, PAFA invites educators to visit HSP, explore the city on a walking tour and workshop ideas with other teachers for classroom projects that encourage civic engagement and student leadership. Morning session takes place at HSP (1300 Locust St.) followed by a walking tour to PAFA, a lunch break and an afternoon seassion at PAFA (118 N. Broad St.) Participating teachers will receive Act 48 credit and ready-made lesson plans to take back to their classrooms.
